I am thirty two. Five years service and

all the time here. I do not think I was ever repri-

-manded here before for anything. My salary is £180 a

year.

To the Directer of Public Works;*

I have a fixed place of residence in the

Colony. Its did not receive your memo. on 30th. July

asking me to come and see you.

We find the charge proved and it is in

fact admitted. It is beyond our province to deal with the

question of punishment but we submit for the consideration of

His Excellency that there are extenuating circumstances and that

a severe reprimand and a small reduction in salary would be

sufficient. The offender of course to lose the salary during

his absence.

(sd.) W. Rees navies,

Attorney-General.

(Sd.) W. Chathan,

Dir. of Pub. Works.

(Sd.) A. M. Thomson,

Colonial Secretary,
